The agency has registered a case against Roy and his wife Radhika and RRPR Holdings in connection with the alleged loss of Rs 48 crore to ICICI Bank. On the CBI raids, NDTV has said that the CBI is merely annoying NDTV and its promoters through the old allegations.

In Delhi, the CBI filed a case against Pranay Roy, his wife Radhika Roy, a private company and others and raided Roy's residence at Greater Kailash-1. RRPR Holdings is the promoter of NDTV English and Hindi Channel. The CBI filed a case in the fraud case (2008 case) from ICICI Bank last week only. Let us tell you that since 2014, the ED and the Income Tax Department (IT) were investigating the matter related to the NDTV.

On the raids of Pranav Roy, BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy also responded. They said, "fear of law is important. It should apply to everyone, no matter who you are. At the same time Congress leader Oscar Fernandes said, "You know what's going on in the country, you have to decide (media) what to do, what to do.

On the CBI raids, NDTV said that we will not yield to democracy and efforts to weaken the freedom of expression in India. NDTV and its promoters will continue to fight against the action of retaliation being done by many agencies.
