Ceasefire Violation will Have serious Repurcussions: India to Pakistan

New Delhi, Patra Lieutenant General AK Bhatt, DGMO of the Indian Army, has warned his Pakistani counterpart in sharp words. Indian DGMO has said that if the Pakistani army fired unprovoked firing on the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir and incited the infiltrators, then he would have to face the blunt reply.

On the request of DGMO of Pakistan, on Monday 10:30 am on the phone the talks between the two military commanders of the two countries. The situation arising out of the ceasefire violations by Pakistan on the Line of Control was discussed.

In a statement issued by the Indian Army, details of the conversation between Bhatt and his Pakistani counterpart Major General Sahir Shamshad Mirza has been given. It says, "DGMO of the Indian Army expressed its commitment to peace and harmony. But it will depend on the intentions and steps of the Pakistani army. If the Pakistani army continues to promote infiltration and firing on the Line of Control, the Indian army will take appropriate counter-action. Lt Gen Bhatt also mentioned the cases of tension raising by the Pakistani army.


On raising the issue of the death of civilians by the Pakistani DGMO, the Indian DGMO clearly stated that the Indian army is professional and does not cause any harm to the citizens.
