Nitish Lashes out RJD, Lavishes Praise on Modi

Patna: After the formation of a new government in Bihar, for the first time, the Chief Minister, Mr. Nitish Kumar, openly responded to the allegations made by the RJD. At the same time, he lavished fulsome praise on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Chief Minister of Bihar said, “nobody can match PM Modi.  Forget about fight, no party/coalition is even in the position to throw a challenge to him.

On the Party’s Participation in Modi’s Cabinet

After the formation of a new government in Bihar with the BJP, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar however did not give any clear indication about the participation of his party at national level. The speculation is rife about induction of Minister from JDU as cabinet expansion can any time happen after August 15.

National Executive will decide on the decision to go with the BJP at the national level, he said. The Chief Minister said that only JD (U) is a recognized party in Bihar. Bihar's unit decided to form a government with BJP here. The decision of JDU being part of Modi’s Ministry will be taken in the National Executive meeting of JDU in Patna that is scheduled to be held on August 19.

On Sharad Yadav’s Resentment
The Chief Minister made it clear that JDU's status was not the same as that we had no ambition at the national level. Serving the state as a Chief Minister of Bihar is also a big religion in politics. When asked about Sharad Yadav's resentment over the decision to form a government with the BJP, he said that there are different views in democracy. Sharadji was in dilemma even on the decision to support Ramnath Kovind, Nitish further added.

On Rahul Gandhi
The Chief Minister was asked that Rahul Gandhi said that he had realized the decision to go to BJP three months ago. In response to this question, he said that it is a matter of happiness that they too started to realize. When we met him recently, he did not give me any indication like this . When he knew it, he would have already told us. The crisis with the Congress was that we wanted to help them but it did not like my role. We can be coalition partners, but not followers.

The Chief Minister said that the RJD should not be in ego. Ego is the worst thing. How many seats did the RJD have in the 2010 elections? Ramvilas Paswan was also with him at that time. Now Ramvilasjee is with us.

There was no other option in front of me
The Chief Minister said that whatever happened, was not been planned. There was no other option in front of me. We tried our best to run a massive coalition but how could I compromise with corruption? I know that I will be criticized, but by our work, we prove that criticism has no meaning.

On supporting the Vice Presidential candidate

On the Vice Presidential election, Nitish clarified that he has promised to support UPA's candidate Gopalkrishna Gandhi, so he will stick to it.
